Hi Everyone!

personalized wedding party gifts

Well, I must confess…;.I wash too many dishes. No, really, I wash way too many dishes. You know what that means? It means I DRY too many dishes! I am one of those people that grab a new “;anything”; (knife, spoonlinen cushion covers, bowl, etc…;.) when cooking. Unlike my mom who can cook an entire meal using one pot and one cooking spoon, I think I use everything I own. I think it’;s because I don’;t mind doing dishes…;strange I know. At Christmas when my parents have their annual party, we are usually in California with them and I’;m the designated dish washer =) I actually volunteer for the job! To me, there is something relaxing about the sound of the water running and the dishes just clanking away. It’;s my time of solitude (well, yeah…;even if there are 100 people in the kitchen behind me). Now, truth be told, there is only one think I can’;t stand…;losing my drying towel! I’;m notorious for setting it down here and there when I have 100 things vying for my attention…;only to come back thinking “;Where’;s my towel?!”;. Of course I then grab another one, and deja vu…;.another towel MIA. So one day, not too long ago, I had it! So I decided to make an “;apron”; out of the towel. Nothing fancy, I only needed something to hang around my neck while long enough for easy dish drying. Alas! It worked and it’;s become my favorite towel for drying my dishes. All you need is a dish towel and some ribbon =)

Let me show you how quick and easy it is to make…;.

First, measure the ribbon to the length you want (meaning how far down you want your towel to hang off the neck). Then stitch, by hand or machine, the ribbon in place.

That’;s it!

Now, if you would like to make a matching border like I did to the top side, just line the ribbon along the smooth seam of the towel and sew away along both sides of the ribbon.

Cute, simple and functional =) Maybe I’;ll pack the towel in the suitcase when going to California for Christmas this year…;.I’;ll need it at the Christmas party!

So try it and let me know what you think!
