It’s back to school season and you’re probably hitting the sales to equip your kids with everything on their supply lists. Keeping things organic may not have even crossed your mind， but there are organic and eco-friendly solutions for school supply shopping too! We’re highlighting Earth-friendly brands and products that your kids (and you) will love.pillow covers solid
Backpacks and Lunch Bags
Organic backpacks and bookbags are available if you know where to look! Just like in mattresses and clothing， textile products like backpacks can contain harsh pesticides， vinyl， phthalates， leadfrench linen cushion covers， and other questionable chemicals. When your child uses a product every day， it’s a savvy decision to find a non-toxic solution without those potential hazards.
For little ones， we love EcoGear’s Ecozoo Organic Backpack， available in four cute animal designs： Panda， Pig， Elephant， and Puppy. Made from organic cotton with recycled plastic and sustainable wood components， it’s perfect for preschool or early school aged children.
We also like the Rawganique organic hemp mini-backpack and classic backpack for little and big kids alike. They have a collegiate version with a laptop compartment for high school or college students too. Rawganique’s backpacks are made in Europe from European organic hemp.
You’ll also need a lunchbox， lunch bag， or lunch tote， and those can be found organic too! We love Fluf， a Canadian company that offers charming organic cotton lunch bags. They have zippable totes as well as open tote style bags. Fluf also has organic cotton reusable snack bags， a perfect replacement for disposable plastic baggies.
Paper products like notebooks and folders consume a large amount of trees and natural resources， so opt for recycled content for a more Earth-friendly solution to your stationery needs. Try these Tree-Free Journals made with recycled content combined with banana or hemp fibers for a truly environmentally-conscious paper purchase.
When it comes to writing supplies， you might think you are limited to the plastic creations that line office supply store walls， but there recycled and environmentally-friendly solutions here too. TreeSmart creates pencils and colored pencils from recycled newspaper， which reduces wood consumption and keeps paper waste from landfills. Meanwhile， Pilot’s B2P pens are made primarily from recycled plastic bottles (and the medium point pens write so smoothly， it’s incredible).

Was there ever a more classic color palette than blue and white? It’s a combination that has stood the test of time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t interpret this perfect pairing in a more modern way. In this living room, we used solid upholstery and white walls (in Benjamin Moore’s White Dove) to create a clean, uncluttered room that lets bold drapery and a patterned rug shine.

Sometimes I have so much to share but can hardly find the time to sit down and share it. That’s exactly how I feel right now. I photograph a lot of what I do and sometimes I neglect to share it with you. Ani’s room has been “done” for several months and while I’ve shared glimpses of it in posts from parties and the holidays, I realized that I’ve never just talked about Ani’s bedroom.Ani’s room is filled with simple bedroom ideasyou can use:
